Daredevil Brewing Co Vacation Kölsch Returns

April 27, 2015

We are pleased to announce the return of our limited release, Vacation, which is a delicately balanced, authentic Kölsch style ale brewed with the finest German malts, hops and yeast to provide a crisp, clean and refreshing match for summer relaxation.

Vacation is a 5.0% ABV, 20 IBU limited release that was originally brewed to coincide with the brewery’s traditional summer holiday week where we shut down the production brewery and all take some much enjoyed time off.

Vacation provides an aggressively fun craft beer option for long, relaxing summer days and nights. It will be available on draft throughout the Daredevil distribution footprint of central and southern Indiana beginning Friday, May 1st.

Later this summer we also plan to release Vacation in 4 packs of 16 oz cans so stay tuned for details.

Construction Update: April 10th

April 10, 2015

The construction project is actually getting down to the end. We sure are excited about that and we know lots of you are too. It is down to days instead of weeks (or months).

Today is a short note with a sneak peak of the back bar at the new brewery and taproom. Next week the tap system is being installed and the outside patio and beer garden work will be getting going. We do not have an opening date yet but we will let you know when we do.

The Crowler® is coming to Daredevil & more

March 12, 2015

There is a lot going on with Team Daredevil these days and we wanted to take a moment to share some of the news.

The Crowler is coming
We are excited to announce we are bringing the Crowler to Indy. The Crowler is a 32 oz can that is filled fresh right at our taproom and has many advantages compared to glass growlers. It also means we have the ability to freshly can smaller batch Rare Devil beers in addition to our more regular beers that you know and love like Lift Off IPA, Rip Cord DIPA, Muse Belgian Golden Ale, J.W.P. American Stout and Vacation Kölsch.

We just finalized our label design and the shiny new canning machine is on it’s way from our friends at Oskar Blues. Look for Crowlers at the new Speedway brewery and taproom. We love the idea of being able to fill these with Daredevil beers.

Speedway Brewery & taproom
There has been a lot of progress over the last month and we are about six or seven weeks away from completion. That means the brewery would be ready for production at that time…. not that the taproom would be ready to open. We need a few weeks of brewing to satisfy some of the demand for our beers in market and also to provide more variety in the taproom for when we do open. We will let everyone know about the taproom opening when we make a decision.

Brackets for Good
We are a sponsor of Brackets for Good and we would encourage people to take a moment to check out what they do to help 128 non-profits raise funds to benefit their communities. (http://www.bracketsforgood.org/ Brackets for Good runs a competitive giving campaign once a year with the winning non-profit receiving a $10,000 donation on top of the funds they raise during the month long event. This year BFG is running in both Indianapolis and Louisville. We sponsor BFG because it allows our small business to work with a much larger group of non-profits than we could do on our own. Everyone wins in BFG.

Construction Update: Feb 6th

February 6, 2015

Construction is going fast and furious and the new Speedway brewery and taproom. Much of it is on the inside of the building as it all comes together.

Over the last month we have had a large focus on plumbing, electric and finishing out the interior walls. In addition most of the glass has been installed for our windows and the front taproom walls.

Next up in February we have painting, epoxy for floors in the brewery, polishing of concrete floors in the taproom and fit and finish.  If things stay on schedule in March we will have the product coolers, tap system, taproom finishes and move in of brewing equipment all happen.

And since none of this can happen without updated permitting we expect to have our updated TTB permit in the next couple weeks which clears us to actually brew on site.

Construction update: Jan 5th, 2015

January 5, 2015

Work is progressing at the new tap room and brewery at 1151 Main Street in Speedway.

Over the holidays our concrete floors cured and are mostly completed.

And the front tap room walls/windows are now framed and ready for glass installation.

We still have a couple months of work before brewery equipment starts moving in but it’s getting much closer. Next up on the schedule is the start of interior wall framing and then installation of the glass for the tap room walls and front brewery windows that face Main Street.

It’s going to be a great 2015!

Happy New Year!

January 1, 2015

Happy New Year! 2014 was a great year for the Daredevil Brewing Co family and we wanted to take a moment to thank all of the great people that we are fortunate to work with and meet in this industry. From the people who distribute our beer, purchase our beer to serve at their establishments or sell at their store and to the people who just enjoy our beers. We enjoy what we do and we could not do it without you. Thank you. We will continue to invest and strive to make the best quality craft beers for all of you.

We have a lot coming in 2015 for all of you. The new Speedway brewery and tap room will open in the spring and we are looking forward to being able to host people for tours and who just want to stop in to pick up a 4-pk or have a pint. Also look for more of our beers in cans later this year as we expand capacity after the new brewery opens.

The Daredevil Brewing Co 2nd Anniversary Road Trip

December 12, 2014

It is time to announce our plans for our 2nd Anniversary celebrations. While technically our anniversary is this week we prefer to celebrate it in January after the holidays and the end of year rush and when we can more easily get out to meet with people.

The return of the Aggressively Fun Appreciation Tour will make 8 stops across Indiana this year with a mix of new locations and a few favorites. We will be bringing four beers from our annual lineup to each event as well as some very special new beers from our Rare Devil small batch series that will change from event to event. There should be something for everyone whether you love our Lift Off IPA, J.W.P. American Stout, Muse Belgian Golden Ale or Rip Cord Double IPA or you really are pining for the new bourbon barrel versions of Muse & J.W.P. or whatever fun we have cooked up in the small batch beers.

Plan ahead and we hope to see you at one or more or all of the events. 7 of the events are tap takeovers and open to the general public. The beer dinner at Black Market is a very limited seating, $75/person, multi-course beer dinner and will require a R.S.V.P. with Black Market (317.822.6757).

We will announce the Rare Devil small batch beers for each event a few days before each event as they are still being brewed!

J.W.P. American Stout limited release returns!

December 4, 2014

Winter is coming and that means it’s time for the return of our limited release J.W.P. American Stout, which is forged from the combination of nine grains and American hops to deliver a huge bouquet of aromas and abundant flavors of rich, silky espresso and chocolate in an expressive American Stout with the spirit of the Wild West.

It’s a fun beer to brew and a great beer to enjoy as a hop-forward American Stout with great character and flavors.  J.W.P. is a 7.5% ABV, 65 IBU, 55 SRM limited release and it’s also our anniversary beer! It ships to our distributor today and it will begin to be available on draft throughout the Daredevil distribution footprint of central and southern Indiana beginning Monday, December 8th.
