We’re coming into 2023 fresh off completing our 10th year in business. While we’re very well know for Lift Off IPA, Rip Cord DIPA, Vacation Kolsch and making one of the most diverse lineups of lagers in the midwest, we’ve never actually distributed a year-round lager. We’ve made our Indy Lager as a seasonal brewery-only beer for several years and now we are adding it to our year-round lineup. 

Starting, this week Indy Lager is now available in 1/2 bbl and 1/6 bbls kegs in our Indiana and Kentucky distribution footprint through our partner Craftroads Beverage. And coming in March, 2023 we will be introducing 12 oz/12-packs.

Indy Lager is a crisp, clean, golden lager made with water, barley malt and hops to be enjoyed on any occasion with an ABV of 5%. It’s a world-class beer, priced to be enjoyed everyday.

Since we needed to provide beer samples to support the draft launch we’ve done a small canning run of the updated Indy Lager branding. 

 

 

Daredevil Brewing Co is excited to announce we are transitioning our Indiana distribution to Craftroads Beverage, a locally owned and operated distributor effective December 14, 2020. The Craftroads team will immediately be supplying Lift Off IPA, Rip Cord DIPA, Vacation Kolsch and the entire Daredevil portfolio across all 92 counties of the state of Indiana.

We enjoyed a great relationship over the last decade with our former distributor, but with the closing of their acquisition we made the decision that it would be better for Daredevil to work with a locally owned and operated distribution company instead of joining a large multi-billion dollar beverage distributor. From the beginning we’ve wanted to build a company we are proud of and that we enjoy working at day to day, so this decision was not taken lightly. We have great respect for the local team we are leaving at our former distributor and we will miss working with them as they helped us make Daredevil one of the most recognized Indiana breweries today. While our distribution partner is changing the beers people know us for and love will continue to be brewed to our high standards for quality and consistency.  

Today Lift Off IPA is one of the best selling beers across Indiana and we strive to make every batch the best batch we’ve ever made. With the change in our distribution we will also be transitioning +1000 accounts across Indiana. We’re already working with Craftroads to contact existing Daredevil accounts, but people can also reach out to us at [email protected] if they have any questions. With this update we are also adding distribution to the 23 northern Indiana counties our previous distributor didn’t cover which means with this move we are returning to northern Indiana after a couple of years being away. If you are in the Region, South Bend or Fort Wayne we are thrilled to be back. 

Last, if during the transition you notice your Lift Off IPA, Rip Cord DIPA or Vacation Kolsch seem to be missing at the store, bar or restaurant you normally see feel free to reach out to us or just ask them you would like them to continue to carry Daredevil beers and support an Indiana company.

Brewery 7th Anniversary Coming Saturday, December 7th

We are excited to announce something we have been working on for quite sometime. We will open a new Daredevil Taproom as part of The Garage food hall at Bottleworks District on Mass Ave as part of their phase 1 in 2020. Our taproom will be located on the north end of the food hall opening up to the planned patio on 10th Street located just off the Monon Trail.

Why Bottleworks? Frankly we love the history of the old Coca-Cola Bottling Plant and this is a unique opportunity to be part of the redevelopment of one of the most recognized landmarks in Indianapolis.

What are we opening? We are planning to open a Daredevil taproom which will feature a wide selection of our beers on draft as well as carry out options similar to what we offer at the Brewery Taproom + Daredevil Hall.

When does all this open? Our new taproom is part of The Garage at Bottleworks project and is currently planned for Spring 2020. As we know more we will share it.

The time has come that we and many of you have been anticipating – Daredevil Hall at Ironworks Hotel Indy opens to the public on Thursday, January 31st at 11 am.

We created Daredevil Hall to provide a community gathering place for any social occasion and to celebrate craft beer inspired food and cultures from around the world. In addition to creating a menu that pairs great with craft beer, many of the items on the menu include our beers as critical parts of the recipe ingredients. To bring the menu to life we partnered with Executive Chef Neal Brown, who like ourselves brings a passion for sense of place and takes inspiration from authentic and traditional ingredients and methods.

In addition to the drink menu featuring Daredevil ales and lagers, we also offer guest taps from breweries that we admire and ciders & wines that pair well with our food menu.

Daredevil Hall is all ages while the bar area is 21 and over. We will offer carry out beer in 4-packs to start; we will not add growler fills until later in the spring at the Hall. More information is available on our website at daredevilbeer.com/thehall

We have some big news to share this week from the brewery. First, this week we are celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of our Speedway brewery and taproom on Saturday, June 23rd. Please join us for a very fun taplist, live music and a great time. It has been an amazing three years since relocating and it has been very rewarding and humbling to see people enjoy our beers. We make a lot more Lift Off IPA these days and we continue to add capacity to expand our lager offerings and other year round beers. As we approach our sixth year in business we have decided it is time to grow in another way and that is adding a satellite location. That new location will be known as Daredevil Hall and it will be at the Ironworks Hotel Indy, 2721 E. 86th Street, in the Nora neighborhood of Indianapolis. We will be filling the last space at the hotel building and moving into the west end cap ground floor space this fall.

Daredevil Hall will be a taproom and restaurant where guests can enjoy a rotating selection of Daredevil ales and lagers with craft beer inspired food pairings. While the taproom will be 21+ at all times the restaurant will be family friendly until 8 pm daily. In addition to our beers we will also offer a rotating selection of craft cider and wine.

The menu at Daredevil Hall will feature craft beer inspired foods from different regions of the world including Belgium, England, Germany and North America. Joining Daredevil Brewing as a partner in Daredevil Hall and the Executive Chef is Neal Brown. We have worked with Neal for several years as a supplier of craft beer to his different restaurants and we are very excited to get a chance to work with him directly on Daredevil Hall. Like us, Neal brings a passion for sense of place and takes inspiration from authentic and traditional ingredients and methods. 

A lot of you might wonder what does this announcement mean for the brewery and our Speedway taproom. First, for Daredevil it means we are growing our business in a new way. We are creating more jobs both at Daredevil Hall and at the Speedway brewery, as we will be making more beer and providing another place for guests and fans to visit us. The new Daredevil Hall at Ironworks will be a taproom & restaurant – we will not be doing any brewing at that location. All Daredevil beers will continue to be brewed at our Speedway brewery, where we planned ahead and have plenty of room to continue to grow by expanding our existing building. The taproom at the brewery will continue to offer a large, rotating selection of our beers and locally sourced menu the same as we do today.
